The natural sound of Nakai's flute will calm you and help you concentrate; at the same time will create a positive and prosperous environoment. Must be experienced to understand my opinion. However, it is your run of the mill Native American flute music that sounds like every other cd of its kind. I have read the many praising reviews of this cd, but in the end I disagree with them. This album is not bad, and it is nice for what it is. If you love this kind of thing, and obviously many people do, then you will be in seventh heaven with this album. But for me, I could go to Wal-mart and pick up a cd that sounds just as good from their little Sounds Of Nature display.
I am absolutely thrilled with this CD. I light some incense, put on this CD and am instantly transported to a tranquil, uncluttered world. Mr. Nakai's ability to replicate the sounds of nature and animals (particulary the coyote) is remarkable. I highly recommend this to anyone who is into deep meditation or simple relaxation. His mastery of the flute and his feeling for the natural environment cannot be matched.
I am a yoga teacher and beginning Reiki practitioner. This cd is absolutely perfect for both of those very focused activities. I never tire of hearing it.
R. Carlos Nakai's Native American flute music is incredibly soothing. It is wonderful for meditation or a quite day in the office. He is definitely a master of his craft.
